History

Brahma®’s roots trace back to 1888 when the brand name was registered by brewer Joseph Villiger. In 2005, InBev, the world’s largest brewer by volume, announced the global launch of Brahma®.

Brahma® will break existing beer paradigms, and is a strong visible sign of the power of the combination of Interbrew and AmBev as InBev.

InBev is launching Brahma® in more than fifteen markets around the world, and within one year it will appear in the markets of the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Ukraine. It is the first ever global product launch in the history of the brewing industry.

Based on the rich brewing heritage and brewed exclusively with Brazilian yeast Brahma® is produced in Brasil (both in Rio and Sao Paulo), the Netherlands (at the Dommelen brewery) and in Russia (at the Klin brewery).
