Past and Present
A malt house for Omsk Brewery was completed before the brewery itself - in 1979. In December of the next year the brewery itself was launched.
Reorganization began in 1985 when a talented new director Ivan Bagnyuk headed the brewery. In February 1989, the staff rented the facilities, and in the same year the plant started to bring profit - first time ever.
Omsk Brewery was reorganized into a closed joint stock enterprise ZAO Rosar in November 1991. In 1992, the brewery won its first bronze medal at the international beer exhibition in Sochi for its brand Petrovskoye.
ZAO Rosar launched a major renovation program in 1998 aiming to stay among leaders at the highly competitive Russian beer market. Expansion of capacities and improvement of quality to the world level were objectives of modernisation, and both were successfully achieved.
Omsk beers received numerous awards in Omsk, Sochi, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Moscow. Siberian brands have also won recognition at international contests in the Czech Republic, Germany, Finland and Switzerland.
Currently all facilities at the brewery are renovated. Modernisation program was fulfilled with support from SUN InBev, the brewery's strategic investor. The brewery in Omsk is part of SUN InBev since 1999 and of its daughter company OAO United Breweries since May 2003.
