General information: Volzhsky affiliate of OJSC «SUN InBev» is one of the biggest breweries in the south of Russia.

Brand portfolio: «Volzhanin», «Klinskoye», «Sibirskaya Korona», «Tolstiak», «Zhigulevskoye», «Bag Bier». In addition to beer the brewery produces malt.

Distribution regions: Volga region, south of Russia, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Republic of Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine.

Past and present. Convenient geographical and economic location together with local water of excellent quality were considered perfect reasons to build a brewery in Volzhsky. The brewery was built in cooperation with engineers from Czech and Slovak Federative Republic. The designed capacity of the brewery was 0,7 Mio hl per year.

«Volzhsky Brewery» made its first brew on December 27th, 1977, it was the legendary «Zhigulevskoye» brand.

Today the flagship brand of the brewery is «Volzhanin». This beer brand was first brewed by Volzhsky brewers in February 1994. One of Volzhanin’s recent achievements to make mention of is the participation in the international exhibition «Green Week» (Berlin, Germany) that took place in January 2006. «Volzhanin» represented Volgograd region. Taking part in the exhibition resulted in awarding «Volzhanin» brand a diploma from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation.

In 1994 the brewery was converted into a joint-stock company with a view to attract additional investments. Volzhsky brewery became the open joint-stock company «Povolzhie».

Development of the brewery moved to the next stage in 1999, when OJSC «Povolzhie» joined the international company SUN InBev (since March 2004 as Volzhsky affiliate of OJSC «SUN InBev»)

SUN InBev investments allowed to carry out a significant extension, reconstruction and modernization of production. In 2005 the brewery’s production capacity was brought to a new level of quality. There have been installed a new brewing line and a packaging line of 50 ths btl/h in the brewery. The new finished product warehouse is the biggest warehouse in the south of Russia. Its area comprises 14 500 m2.

A successive stage made it possible for the brewery to achieve the capacity of 2,7 Mio hl. It is planned that after the reconstruction the brewery will achieve the capacity of 3,6 Mio hl.

Volzhsky brewery has a proactive social stand. It is an unfailing participant of all major city’s and regional events and holidays. Birthdays of Volgograd and Volzhsky, anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, «May Days of Volzhsky Media» — these memorable events are supported by Volzhsky brewers.
