Not only does our company offer its consumers high quality beer but it also strives for participation in the life of cities and regions where company’s plants are situated. This is why we have launched long-term social program «We will live here!». It aims to help citizens make life in their hometowns more pleasant and comfortable.
A year has passed since the program started, and people saw how beneficial it is. Cooperation of our employees with townspeople enjoyed complete support of local authorities and linked separate actions into a genuine movement. It seems that we are witnessing the beginning of a good tradition when local people participate in the life of their own cities.
It all started in April of 2002, when spring «subbotniks» (Saturday voluntary public works) were organized in Ivanovo, Volzhsky and Volgograd, Omsk, Kursk, Klin, Saransk, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg. SUN InBev employees and the citizens tidied together industrial areas, streets, gardens and parks.
«Best Yard — 2002» contest was announced in autumn of 2002. This stage of «We will live here!» program aimed not only at renovating yards, but also at calling citizens for joint efforts in making and keeping public territories clean and orderly. The competition was to propagate such experience and responsible attitude towards the environment.
Final results of «Best Yard — 2002» contest were declared on November 29th 2002. SUN InBev awarded the winners with the choice of small architectural pieces for public places, funds for mending roads and entrances, purchasing trees and open-air sporting goods. The most active citizens, industrious public workers and journalists received special awards.
SUN InBev initiated and supported opening of skating rinks in Omsk and other cities on Christmas week in January 2003. This was the beginning of the winter stage of «We will live here!» social program.
«We will live here!» social program is going on! Spring actions are scheduled for April 19th 2003. Watch the news!
